Poetry: Sunset on the Prairies
The sun sets on the prairies, a canvas painted gold,
A rider on his horse, reflective and bold.
He sits atop his trusted steed, amidst the twilight's glow,
Lost in thought as the world transforms below.
He gazes at the horizon, where the sun dips low,
Recalling memories of a life's ebb and flow.
Every detail etched in his mind, a journey of highs and lows,
As the sunset's colors deepen and time slows.
The vast grassy land beneath him, an endless expanse,
A sense of connection, a timeless dance.
He feels the pulse of nature, the beauty it bestows,
As the sun's final rays cast a fiery, orange hued rose.
In the distance, he looks deeply into canyons grand,
Carved by time's patient hand.
Layers of earth, history enshrined,
Revealing the passage of time, the truths he finds.
The prairies, the sunset, the horse, and the canyons,
Symbolize life's fleeting moments, its triumphs and stanzas.
Nature's cycles, ever-changing and profound,
Reflections of reality, wherever he's bound.
As the sun dips below the horizon, a final farewell,
He's reminded of the stories he has to tell.
Of love, laughter, tears, and pain,
The memories imprinted, a lifelong refrain.
The rider on his horse, now bathed in twilight's embrace,
Looks onward to the stars, a celestial space.
With a heart full of gratitude and soul at peace,
He rides into the night, a sense of release.
For in the sunset of the prairies, he found solace and grace,
A reminder of life's ephemeral pace.
With nature as his guide and reality revealed,
He rides with purpose, heart and mind healed.
