Poetry: A Boy watches Distant Stars

Beneath the midnight's cloak, a boy did lay

Upon a rock, in fields of corn so vast,

His gaze fixed deep, where stars in distance play,

His heart alone, with only memories amassed.

A hat adorned his head, a faithful friend,

A stick his sole companion by his side,

No other soul to share this solitary trend,

But in the solitude, he did confide.

The midnight sky, a canvas black and bright,

With stars that twinkled, like diamonds in the sky,

Captured his gaze, held him in its sight,

As he pondered mysteries that made him sigh.

He wondered if those stars had secrets to share,

Of distant galaxies, and worlds unknown,

Of ancient tales and legends to declare,

Of cosmic wonders waiting to be shown.

The boy imagined he could reach those stars,

On wings of dreams and boundless imagination,

To traverse the universe, break through the bars,

And explore the celestial realm's vast creation.

He longed for company in this cosmic quest,

To share the marvels of the midnight skies,

But for now, he lay alone, feeling blessed,

To have the stars as his companions in disguise.

With his hat as his crown and his stick as his guide,

He pondered the mysteries of the universe wide,

And in the solitude, he found solace and peace,

As the stars whispered secrets that would never cease.

So there he lay, a lonely boy in fields of corn,

Lost in wonder, gazing at stars afar,

His heart aglow, his soul reborn,

In the midnight deep, beneath the endless stars' celestial bar.

And as the night wore on, he fell into a trance,

Enchanted by the beauty of the cosmic dance,

With his hat pulled low, and his stick held tight,

He continued his gaze into the starry night.

For in that moment, he felt connected to it all,

To the universe, to the stars, to the grand cosmic sprawl,

And though he was alone, he found comfort in the stars,

As they whispered to him from afar, from galaxies afar.

So the boy lay still, in his field of corn,

Lost in the vastness of the midnight sky,

With his hat and his stick, he was never forlorn,

For he had the stars, his eternal ally.
