Poetry: A Dog's Untold Story

Under the house, still under construction,

I opened my eyes to a world of disruption.

A tiny pup with no mother's touch,

Born in chaos, I didn't know much.

As I grew, I roamed the site,

Exploring with curiosity, day and night.

But as I aged, I discovered the truth,

My mother was gone, taken in her youth.

Shot by evil humans, heartless and cruel,

Leaving me and my siblings in a painful duel.

We stuck together, me and my sister,

Through hardships and struggles, we resisted blister.

But one by one, my siblings fell,

Their lives cut short, a tragic spell.

Until only my sister and I remained,

The last survivors, forever pained.

We played and chased, we laughed and cried,

But the loneliness crept in, a void so wide.

I watched my sister, as she sat by my side,

Waiting for me to come back, her hope didn't hide.

But I never returned, I was gone forever,

Leaving her alone, in pain, however.

She waited and waited, with a heavy heart,

Longing for my presence, never to depart.

And as time passed, my sister grew weak,

Her spirit fading, her will to seek.

She joined me in eternal rest,

Leaving the world, it was the final test.

A pious human, who knew our tale,

Burying us with care, without fail.

Remembering us, though we were but strays,

Showing compassion in those final days.

Now we rest, side by side,

Our story told, our journey's tide.

No one from our family is left behind,

But our memories linger, forever enshrined.

In the hearts of those who knew our plight,

Our story lives on, in the darkest night.

For we were more than just abandoned souls,

We were once family, with hearts and goals.

Though we are gone, our legacy stays,

A reminder of the fleeting days.

For even in a world so dark and bleak,

Love and compassion, still exist, we seek.
